Your clipboard is yours.

ClipNine is developed and published by ClipNine Pty Ltd ("ClipNine," "we," "us"). This policy explains what ClipNine does — and does not do — with your clipboard content and any other information when you use the ClipNine desktop application (the "App") or this website.
Clipboard content
ClipNine's core function is reading and writing your operating system's clipboard so you can save and paste text from up to nine slots. This content is processed entirely on your device.
By default, slot contents are held only in memory and are cleared when you close the App. If you turn on the optional "Persist session" setting, slot contents are saved to a local settings file on your own computer so they survive a restart. In neither case is clipboard content ever sent to ClipNine, to any ClipNine server, or to any third party. ClipNine has no server component to send it to — there is no ClipNine account, sign-in, or cloud sync.
Other information stored locally
The App stores a small amount of additional data locally, on your device only, to make the App work as expected:
- Your settings (e.g. auto-copy on/off, launch-at-startup, window size)
- Basic local usage counters (how many times you've opened the App, and the date you first opened it), used only to decide when to show an in-app feedback prompt. These counters never leave your device.
None of this is transmitted anywhere or linked to your identity.
Network activity
ClipNine is designed to do as little over the network as possible. The only network activity the App performs is:
- Update checks. A short time after launch, the App checks GitHub for a newer version and, if one exists, downloads the installer so you can apply it. This check contains no clipboard content or personal data.
- Links you choose to open. If you click a feedback or support link inside the App, it opens in your default web browser (e.g. a Google Form) — the App itself does not collect or transmit anything from that interaction.
This website
This website (clipnineapp.com) uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (e.g. page views), which is separate from the desktop App and does not have access to anything on your clipboard or in the App.
Third parties
ClipNine relies on the following third-party infrastructure:
- GitHub — hosts App update checks and installer downloads.
- SSL.com — issues the digital certificate used to sign the App, so Windows can verify it comes from ClipNine Pty Ltd unmodified.
- Google— this website's analytics, and the optional feedback form you may choose to open.
None of these services receive your clipboard content or App usage data from ClipNine.
Children's privacy
ClipNine is a general-purpose productivity tool not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
